Soaring and Pitching
(1/28/2015, Missouri)
Pursing my lips, I blow
Scrambling my words into piles,
I part them with smiles.
Fond memories of
Giggling and groaning
On the living room floor.
Laughter drying our cheeks
Leaving our souls light.
Our future’s bright
Possibilities?
I hope my feelings string from my lips,
Collecting adjectives like kite tails;
Catching my breath and
Dancing excitedly in the wind.
Feelings of affection
Bound to introspection
The strings are as taut as my heart’s.
I’m soaring and pitching
