Midnight Garden's Newest Garden Space

While I ride the rails for the first time, heading South, Mother Nature surrounds me. Easily coasting, trees and farmlands are in full bloom all around me. With attention, care, and time what started as seedlings are gorgeous and growing mighty beings that give back to the world around them. I’m inspired to move down a similar path in our company’s second year.

I was recently given a wonderful opportunity to participate in a graduate training program at KU called the LEND program designed to empower the trainees with tools for leadership, education, inclusivity, and so much more in neurodevelopmental and related disabilities. With this training at my side and a faculty at KU to help make intentional decisions, I am beginning the journey to craft our brand new children’s branch: BushBerry Books! With a mindful goal of an education forward section, Mindy McVay and I intend to roll out a fully formed children’s branch that focuses on inclusive educational experiences within every step we make.

While fun and play are both necessary for children to be happy, healthy, and balanced; curiosity and learning about the world around them is also vital. As well as creativity and problem solving skills. All the while maintaining an inclusive environment to meet children where they are with varying needs in the way their mind is developing. I aim to assis this garden’s newest formation with intentionality and focus, in order to guarantee no child gets lost in the weeds of the learning space.

Along the way, of course, while learning and planning I intend to take you all along for the ride. Showing all the fascinating paths we take in our journey. I hope you are as excited as I am to see what this year has in store for all of us here at Midnight Garden Publishing. Indeed, I have no need for a silver lining in this voyage. This creation is so inspiring I can’t help but feel it’s entire being is forged in that sparkling silver of positivity.
