Back to School Chalk Walks and Teasing Teddy Talks

September 01, 20262 min read

Through the rush of back to school shopping sales and last minute errands, including signing every one of my school supplies in the hopes that it won’t be lost in the first week of school. My mom and I are looking forward to the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.

This School House Rocks!

I look forward to seeing my friends and meeting my new 3rd grade teacher. Mom looks forward to a weekly routine and standardized business hours. I will miss working together this summer to help local midnight garden publishing clients, networking with mom at 1 million cups and Keystone Co-lab sessions and vacationing in Branson Mo.

I know not everyone is as excited about returning to school as I am, but I’ve put together a list of reasons for why school rocks!

  1. Playing at Recess & P.E.

  2. Creating masterpieces in Art.

  3. Rocking out during music class. (Thunder sticks and rain sticks are my favorite musical instruments)

  4. The lunch ladies are always happy to see me and I’m always happy to see them! My friends and I appreciate them so much!

  5. I get to learn about what all my friends did during the summer.

  6. I get to have fun in science class and learn about fun experiments!

  7. I can't wait until I'm chalking the school sidewalk outside my school in preparation for our first day of school !

While I will be stepping back to part time work with Midnight Garden Publishing, I am excited to reveal that I will be organizing and spearheading a new YouTube program called “BushBerry Books’ Teddy Talks,” to help promote public speaking and literacy for kids!

Soon, we will begin accepting submissions to showcase their videos on our social media platforms and website. We want to know what kids think, what interests them, and how their unique perspectives can promote positive change! We can’t wait to begin showcasing their Teddy Talks!
